Flossie offers a wide fare of fantastic sandwiches and burgers. Their impressive outdoor seating and decor coupled with great food will give you a 5/5 PEC experience. First things first, their menu is mostly pictures so it would be good to ask about ingredients if you have any food intolerances. There may also be off menu items so feel free to ask their pleasant staff. Most of the items don't have prices but it's generally around $20 pretax. It's a bit pricier than expected but the food and environment makes up for it. We tried a few of their sandwiches and they were all juicy and flavourful in their own way. It's all packed with a healthy combination of high quality ingredients. The burger was cooked to a nice juicy medium rare, and the sandwich breads were toasted perfectly. You have the choice of the usual sides, but the coleslaw definitely stands out with a creamy and sweet but well balanced profile. The outdoor seating is an absolute boon for a spring/summer PEC visit. Enjoy the shade and the gentle breeze as you bite into your juicy sandwich!
I dream about this place. Our second year coming in late September for a city escape, Flossie's came highly recommended by my buddy who visits often. I'm sad to say that I don't remember what we got last year, just that we loved it. So of course, we had to repeat again this year! And oh man, it did not disappoint. I didn't want to eat with my toddler because I did NOT want to share. I gave him a few fries because he could smell them but there was no chance he was going to touch my sandwich. Hubby got the Texan brisket (special and the last one!) and I got the chicken pesto panini. My wonderful husband offered to do splitsies and ... well, he only got a couple bites. Sadly, because of said toddler and infant in tow, we couldn't eat it there when the fries were fresh so they were a tad sad when we finally sat to eat them. No dock on Flossie's - that's our fault. I'm certain they would have been amazing fresh! All of this to say....if you're in the area or planning a visit, make sure you stop by. You won't be disappointed. Unless they're closed...that's why you need to plan your schedule around their opening hours. A second location is opening in Belleville ... kudos to Flossie's for making their dreams happen! Sorry for not taking a picture of our sandwiches. Like I said, I couldn't wait. It was very much a GET IN MY BELLY moment.
winter dinning area is adjacent to the greenhouse - so it is warm and toasty, sandwiches were outstanding while there is a small number of sandwiches on the menu - it was still really hard to decide. Luckily i was with someone who was happy to share! We had the Special - Greasy Caprese - whose reputation had preceded and it not disappoint - thick cut bacon, pesto and cherry tomatoes done perfectly. Second up was the Roast Beef with caramelized onions on a soft bun - YUM! we added the soups (potato leek and beef with gnocchi). I felt a little bad for the soups because under any other circumstances I would have raved about the flavours and obviously great ingredients - but the next to the amazing sandwiches it was hard for them to get noticed
We'd heard good things about Flossie's and the experience lived up to the hype! There's a decent amount of seating and an open green space for a picnic style lunch (we brought a blanket). We opted for 2 of their vegetarian sandwiches (mushroom and egglant) and both were delicious (coming from someone that generally doesn't like mushrooms, and certainly not as the star). Would highly recommend! It's attached to a cute garden/market store and just down the street from a brewery and a winery.
Flossie's was our stop during our wine tour. I have heard people speak about Flossies before but this was my first experience. Delicious! There were 5 of us and we each tried different dishes -- eggplant, turkey, salads, etc. They were out of gluten free buns so offered to make the same sandwich and serve on fries. Although I wasn't gluten free concerned that idea sounded delicious and it definitely was! The staff were helpful, super friendly and everything was made to order and if shows in their quality. We sat outside at the picnic benches and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. We will definitely visit again!
